First Christian Church first contracted with the Schudi Organ Company of Garland, Texas, for this instrument. In 1990 a contract was signed with Dobson to complete the organ, utilizing the few components that had been constructed by Schudi (windchest grids and the console woodwork).

New plans were executed by Dobson in keeping with the original visual design and the items made by Schudi. Pipework was made and voiced, steelwork fabricated, casework constructed and assembled, all in Lake City. In the fall of 1991, the organ was delivered to Stillwater, where the 24,000 pound, 40' organ was installed by a crew of nine organ builders in two weeks. Following this, three weeks were required to perform the tonal finishing. The organ was dedicated on 24 November 1991 in a festival service for which Paula Price Dollarhide served as organist. Subsequent programs in the 1992 Dedication Recital Series were performed by organ consultant Gerald Frank, Ms. Dollarhide, and Michael Farris.
