Opus 76

Phase 1

The first part of the project was the construction of the casework and installation of the very largest pipes, which could not be installed after the case was set up.

These photographs show the building under construction, as well as the installation of the 32' Prestant façade pipes and the 32' Double Open Wood, which were made in two halves.

Jon Thieszen, Uwe Dohrmann, Klaus Furtwängler and Lynn Dobson stand in front of Verizon Hall, the new performance venue for the Philadelphia Orchestra, which is part of the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts. Furtwängler is the owner and Dohrmann a foreman of Carl Giesecke & Sohn, the German maker of the tin façade pipes.
